  DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! The staff has a lot of illegal activity. Especially the head of the staff Joe Archer. The staff is rude ( Joe Archer uses fowl language towards residents), deceitful, and intrusive. There have been a total of 7 unnoticed staff entrances into my house within a year (ZERO NOTICE). I have had several friends who moved out of the unit due to the unfair and rude environment presented by the staff. Oh and if you ever decide to live here, be ready to get spammed by the staff through facebook messages(how unprofessional), emails, several texts and phone calls. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS LIVING CONDITION. They also have a $1400 security deposit (ANNUAL) to live in such an Absurd situation! Also raised my rent without letting me know in advance. Horrible horrible! Wish google had the zero star option.

  The way they operate the units here is unprofessional and unofficial. The safety deposit is expensive, which is twice the monthly rent. So at next year's rate (fall 2017), that safety deposit will be 1600 or more. Do not expect to get back most of it, especially if you vocalize against anything they do that is illegal in California (entering premises without a day's notice for instance) or if you do anything prohibited in the lease agreement, such as keeping a guest for longer than 3 days. They will get on your ass about that, I have never heard of any other apartment that is this nosey. You'd best not get on their bad side because they will over bill you for damages, and I have even heard of a person getting charged for damages that weren't there. The community is not united, a lot of the people I spoke to that currently live here say that they do not like living here, and want to move out. If you do sign your lease, make sure to get a copy of it, and also take a picture of the original lease, I have also heard a story where they kicked a tenant out because they edited out their signature on the lease agreement and then stated that they never signed a lease. Just make sure you know what your getting yourself into.

  As you may have noticed by the appearance of the mildly inbred staff, these apartments are nothing but trouble. I felt like every time I saw them I was on the set of The Hills Have Eyes.
  
  Save your time, money and sanity and live elsewhere.

  I lived at the MLC for a year. During that year I had incredible times with incredible people. However, when Reverend Tim left and Joe Archer and Jake Whittaker took control, things went south for me and others. I was treated poorly and victimized by the management there, and moved out. I wasn't the only one that an experience like this, and it's a shame that bueracracy exists in a place of many faiths.
